Who Are the Candidates for Minister of Justice and What Do They Say About Their Possible Appointment

Following the resignation of Minister of Justice Grigor Minasian, the political majority is actively discussing the selection of a new minister. The names of four MPs from the Civil Contract party—Arpi Davoyan, Vladimir Vardanian, Arusyank Julhakyan, and Heriknaz Tigranian—are being circulated as potential candidates.

On October 1, a meeting of the Executive Board of the Civil Contract party was held, chaired by the party's president and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The candidacies for the Minister of Justice of Armenia were discussed.

Tert.am spoke with the candidates. Vladimir Vardanian responded to the question of whether he had been proposed as a candidate for minister and whether his name was discussed during the board meeting, saying, “I have not heard any discussions, I have no expectations, and I am not commenting on anything.”

Heriknaz Tigranian confirmed that her name was nominated. “Yes, my candidacy has been proposed, I have refused, I do not see myself in that position, I see myself in the National Assembly,” she stated. Tigranian did not answer other questions, noting she could only speak about herself and that she is not a member of the board and is unaware of the discussions.

MPs Arpi Davoyan and Arusyank Julhakyan did not respond to the media's calls.
