Powerful Magnetic Storms Expected

Currently, the Sun is facing the Earth on the side where solar spots are few, which decreases magnetic activity, said Anatoly Petrukovich, director of the Institute for Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences to NEWS.ru.

“For this reason, the probability of magnetic storms in the coming days is not very high. However, of course, small magnetic storms are still possible. They can occur even during periods of lower solar activity,” the scientist clarified.

According to experts, individuals sensitive to weather conditions should not let their guard down. The physicist advises spending more time outdoors, relaxing, and taking prescribed medications on time.

Dmitry Viben, head of the department of physics and stellar evolution at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, believes that solar flares have no significant impact on human health. According to him, if a weather-dependent person is warned that a magnetic storm will occur on a specific date, they will feel unwell that day. If nothing is said to them, their condition will not deteriorate.

According to Viben, during magnetic storms, the likelihood of certain citizens experiencing “a slight increase in cardiac events” exists, but it is overshadowed by the various stresses people face in life. Therapist Victoria Krasnova mentioned in an interview with NEWS.ru that many of her patients often report “various symptoms” on days of strong magnetic storms. “Most commonly, people complain of increased or sudden drops in blood pressure, as well as loss of strength. It is during this time that various chronic conditions may worsen,” the expert emphasized.

Therapist Pavel Smirnov recommends that weather-dependent individuals follow certain rules during magnetic storms to minimize their health impacts. “During such periods, it’s important to walk more in the fresh air and pay attention to physical activity. However, physical activity should be approached without fanaticism, so as not to overstrain yourself,” Smirnov explained to NEWS.ru.
