Attempted Extortion and Assault on Schoolboy in Yerevan

On September 19, A. Hovhannisyan submitted a complaint to the Armenian governmental oversight authority, stating that during the 2023-2024 academic year, students from the 7th grade of School No. 84 have been attempting to extort money from his son, 13-year-old A.A., and have assaulted him when their demands were not met. This was reported by ArmLur.am.

Later, specific individuals arranged to meet in one of Yerevan's cafes with Hovhannisyan's husband, Gor Arustamyan. The assailants were armed with clubs and gas pistols. However, after receiving blows, the husband also resorted to force, prompting the assailants to flee the scene.

Documents related to the incident have been submitted to the investigative department.
