China on the Use of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Ukraine
Lilit T.
The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that the use of weapons of mass destruction and attacks on civilian nuclear infrastructure in the Ukrainian conflict must not be allowed. He made these remarks at a press conference in New York.
“It is extremely important to contribute to the cooling of the situation, to prevent an escalation of hostilities and avoid further escalation,” Wang’s words are quoted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
“There must be a clear opposition to the use of weapons of mass destruction, the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and attacks on civilian nuclear facilities such as nuclear power plants,” he added.
