Kyiv Shakes Mighty Russia: Ukrainians Invade 100 Localities

In the face of aggression from its enemy, Ukraine had no option but to fight with its best available weapons, utilizing elements of surprise. Kyiv has shaken mighty Russia by invading 100 localities approximately 1300 square kilometers away in the Kursk region.

In Ukraine's Sumy region, near the Russian border, the morale among Ukrainian fighters sharply contrasts with the low spirits prevailing on the Eastern front. As Moscow's troops continued their assault on Donbas, soldiers engaged at the Russian front hoped the 'Kursk' operation would be a turning point in the war.

Despite concerns from some commentators in Kyiv that the offensive may have diverted necessary forces from operations in Donbas, Ukrainian military personnel remain buoyed by the unexpected success of the invasion, implementing initiative and the surprise effect that have been utilized on the battlefield.

Furthermore, one of the key objectives of the operation — to weaken the pressure of Russian forces on Donbas by forcing Moscow to divert its troops to defend Kursk — has yet to be realized,” the publication adds. The newspaper notes that “maintaining control over occupied Russian territories is fraught with numerous risks.”
