Terror Attack at Israel-Jordan Border: Netanyahu's Response

The Israeli Airports Authority has ordered the closure of all border crossings with Jordan following a terrorist attack today at the "Allenby" crossing in the Jordan Valley, reported the Kan public radio station.

"The Airports Authority has directed to cease operations at ground border crossings with Jordan, from Eilat to the Jordan River," the statement said.

It is noted that thousands of Israelis cross these border points every day. Earlier today, the Israeli Defense Forces' press service reported that an unidentified individual arrived at the "Allenby" crossing from the Jordanian side and opened fire on the staff of the border checkpoint. As a result of the attack, three Israelis were killed, and the assailant was neutralized by Israeli security forces. Israeli authorities have labeled the incident as terrorism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already commented on the situation, stating that Israel is "surrounded by a murderous ideology led by the Iranian axis of evil."
