Police Clarification on Kidnapping of Minors

The Police of the Republic of Armenia has clarified the situation regarding recent rumors. According to their statement, "Information has been circulating on the internet suggesting that someone is kidnapping children near schools in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district. It has also been reported that numerous parents have called the police about this issue.

We would like to inform you that there has been no report or notification regarding this matter received by the Central Operational Management Center of the National Police or the Malatia Division. However, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Malatia Division has received information indicating that on September 25, a 57-year-old man, a resident of Mazmanyan Street, attempted to kidnap two minors using a Mercedes vehicle on Regional Street.

As part of the initiated criminal proceedings, the man has been located, arrested, and the necessary documents have been submitted to the investigative department. The vehicle has been moved to a secure area of the division."
