Police Discover Enough Weapons to Equip an Entire Squad

On September 15, a significant arms discovery occurred in the Armavir region. SHAMSHYAN.com reports that around 8:50 PM, a citizen called the police of the Armavir division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, indicating he was a participant in the 44-day war in Artsakh in 2020, and left weapons and ammunition on the road to the Noravan village cemetery.

According to a photojournalist's report, police discovered two white bags and a wooden box at the stated location, within which items resembling weapons were observed. The investigation team from the Armavir regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia responded to the alert. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 335 of the Armenian Criminal Code. The area was examined, leading to the discovery of:

• 1 unit of AK-74 type assault rifles in 5.45 mm and 7.62 mm
• 5.45 mm type submachine guns
• 5.6 mm type homemade machine gun of model “Shmayis”
• 16 mm TOZ-B type, 16 mm IJ-5 type assault rifles, and sawed-off variations
• 12 mm and 16 mm sawed-off double-barreled shotguns
• Makarov-type air pressure, gas, and drum-loaded pistols of 5.45 mm and 9 mm
• Swedish knife with a sheath
• 3 F-1 grenades, 2 RG-42 grenades, M-75, 2 OB-25 grenades, and a fuse grenade
• 12 grenade detonators, 6 large caliber rounds
• 3 flares, 25 YPMD-6 simulation rounds
• Various types of 5.6 mm firearms
• 8 hunting rounds of 24 mm
• 261 rounds for 7.62 mm automatic rifles
• 330 rounds for 5.45 mm automatic rifles and 92 rounds for 7.62 mm rifles
• Combat head of a 100 mm artillery shell
• Different parts of automatic and hunting rifles
• 12 empty magazines for automatic rifles
• 7 explosive bricks, a helmet, a bulletproof vest, a pistol case, smoke grenades, 3 gas masks, 3 gas mask cylinders, and 2 cloth bags.

Note: The presumed suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law as established by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
