Germany's Support Brings Us Closer to the European Union, Mirzoyan

On September 24, within the framework of the UN General Assembly, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including bilateral agenda, deepening Armenia-EU partnership, and regional themes.

“We highly appreciate Germany's support for the continuous effective implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia, both directly bilaterally and within the EU framework, and this, of course, brings Armenia closer to the European Union. We are exploring new cooperation prospects,” emphasized the Armenian Foreign Minister.

It was mutually noted that Armenia-EU cooperation is developing in several important areas, reflected in the new agenda of Armenia-EU partnership. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany provided a detailed analysis of regional developments. Within the context of the security situation in the South Caucasus, they exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process.

Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted that there is currently a real opportunity to sign a peace agreement, for which strong political will is necessary, and Armenia has clearly expressed this will.
