Americans Are Lying, Says Iranian President

“Americans are lying that Iran wants to create a nuclear bomb. They are spreading false information about us to the world. Iran signed a nuclear deal and was implementing its provisions; the Atomic Energy Agency had the most oversight over Iran's peaceful nuclear activities. If we are producing weapons and missiles, it is only for the purpose of defense. During the war imposed by Saddam Hussein, our country was bombed with the support of Americans and some European countries, while we were defenseless,” stated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in an interview with CNN.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran must have high military capability to confront its enemies for defense purposes.
