The Number of Casualties and Injuries in Lebanon is Rising
The number of casualties in southern and eastern Lebanon due to Israeli airstrikes has reached 558. This was announced to reporters by the Acting Health Minister of Lebanon, Firas Abiad.
"The number of casualties from Israeli airstrikes in various regions of Lebanon has reached 558, including 50 children and 94 women," Abiad stated. The number of injured has reached 1,835.
It is noteworthy that prior to this, on September 23, the number of deaths due to Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon was reported at 492. According to The Guardian, this marks the highest daily casualty count since the end of the civil war in 1975-1990.
Israel claims to have hit 1300 targets amid escalating conflict with Hezbollah, while tens of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes.
