770 Missing Citizens in Kursk Region
Since the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion, over 770 reports of missing persons have been received in the Kursk region. This was announced by the regional governor Alexey Smirnov.
“Since the beginning of August, active search operations for the missing have continued in the Kursk region. During this time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has received more than 770 applications from citizens who have lost contact with their relatives and friends,” the governor wrote in a message shared on his Telegram channel.
He added that during the liberation of several settlements in the Korenevsky district, 268 individuals were discovered. Smirnov noted that this is the result of the work of the police and the relatives of the missing, who also participated in the search operations.
The Ukrainian armed forces began their invasion of the Kursk region on August 6. Currently, the fighting continues. The commander of the Akhmat special forces unit, Apti Alaudinov, reports that the situation in the region remains stable.
