We Face New Threats: The Catholicos Sends a Message

His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence Day from the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin.

“We bring our blessing and best wishes to our entire people on the occasion of this sacred day of independence. More than three decades ago, our people reaffirmed its independent statehood with the vision and commitment to live by the sacred values passed down by our ancestors and to build a bright future for our homeland. In this noble aspiration, the children of our nation faced many difficulties and challenges together, achieving significant accomplishments and progress.”

“Today, our homeland and people are going through new trials: Artsakh is occupied, our children from Artsakh are displaced, and peace is unstable along the borders of Armenia. We are once again facing security issues and new threats.”

“For the strengthening of our state and for confronting external and internal challenges, it is imperative to be united in love and in common purpose, so that we may rediscover the path to glorious victories and successes. Thus, let us appreciate the blessing of having independence and prioritize the national, state, and universal interests above all else.”

“With firm reliance on God, let us cultivate our land with new testimonies of faith, hope, and love, and realize our national aspirations through our devoted efforts, deserving the blessing of the psalmist: ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord’ (Psalm 32:12).”

“Our plea to the Almighty God is to maintain peace and security in our homeland, to guide our people along the paths of justice and solidarity, and to grant our nation a safe and prosperous life both in our homeland and in the Diaspora.”
