Pressure Must Be Increased to Prevent the Region from Being Drawn into a Greater Catastrophe: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan believes that Israel operates as a terrorist organization and that its target is not only the Gaza Strip but the entire region.

"From the very first day, I have said that Israel's goal is not only the Gaza Strip. The recent attacks on Lebanon have justified our concerns that the Israeli leadership plans to extend the war throughout the region. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his gang are carrying out all kinds of provocations to implement their radical Zionist ideology. Pressure on Israel must be further increased to prevent the region from being drawn into a greater catastrophe," Erdogan stated to reporters before his trip to the USA, where he will participate in the UN General Assembly. The broadcast was made by Turkish television channels.

He announced that he would address the UN General Assembly on the first day and remind participants of the need for action against the genocide in the Gaza Strip and Israel's aggressive policies: "Once again, we sadly see that Israel is conducting attacks not as a state but as a terrorist organization. This is state terrorism. The recent digital attacks, the explosions of communication means in Lebanon are a clear proof of this. With this attack, Israel has clearly shown that it does not care about civilians and will attempt in every way to achieve its hateful goals," Erdogan noted.

Regarding the schedule of meetings at the UN General Assembly, the Turkish president mentioned that there is currently no clarity on whether a meeting with US President Joe Biden will take place, but there are events within the framework of the General Assembly that they will attend together.
