Russian Hackers Attack Armenian Prime Minister's Office Database: 'Azatutyun'
A Russian hacking group claims to have infiltrated the Armenian Prime Minister's office through an FTP data transfer protocol. This information was reported by 'Azatutyun'.
‘We have access to the database,’ the hackers state, threatening that if the government does not transfer $2.5 million within the next 48 hours, the data will be destroyed.
Currently, the Armenian government has not responded to inquiries from the media regarding this matter.
Months ago, in June, the same hacking group allegedly targeted websites of the Armenian President, Prime Minister, and various law enforcement agencies. For a short period, these sites were either completely inaccessible or operating at very slow speeds.
At that time, digital security expert Arthur Papyan remarked in an interview with the media, ‘If this succeeds even for 5 minutes, and if these are random hacker activists who can render an entire state's infrastructure inaccessible, this can be considered evidence of the weakness of state infrastructure.’
