The relevant authorities are verifying the authenticity of reports regarding a cyberattack by Russian hackers on the database of the Prime Minister's Office of Armenia. This was confirmed by the Armenian Government in a statement to Tert.am.
"The relevant authorities are checking the authenticity of the information; at this moment, we do not have confirmation," the statement said.
Earlier, it was reported that one of the Russian hacking groups claimed to have breached the Prime Minister's Office in Armenia through an FTP credentials transfer method.
"We have possession of the database," the hackers stated, threatening to delete the data if the government does not transfer $2.5 million within the next 48 hours.
