There Are Unresolved Issues Regarding the Border: Hajizade
Azerbaijan and Georgia have agreed on two-thirds of their common state border. This was announced by Ayxan Hajizade, the spokesperson for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The commission that has been operating since 1996 is working on the delimitation of the border between the two countries, and to date, two-thirds of the border is considered agreed upon. We believe that there are no disputed issues regarding the Azerbaijan-Georgia border; there are unresolved questions. This is natural. Because border issues are important and at the same time complex for each state. Therefore, the border line should be established in such a way that there is no need to return to it again. Currently, work is ongoing in this direction," Hajizade stated.
The total length of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border is 480 km. The delimitation and demarcation of the state border began in 1996 by the bilateral intergovernmental commission of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
