Georgia's Parliament Passes Bill Banning LGBT Propaganda
The Parliament of Georgia has approved a bill banning LGBT propaganda in its third and final reading on Tuesday. A total of 84 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, while members of opposition parties refrained from participating in the vote. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The authors of the bill are members of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party. The legislation also prohibits same-sex marriages, gender reassignment, adoption by same-sex individuals or couples, and the organization of events promoting LGBT themes.
Additionally, intimate same-sex scenes will be banned from television. The bill will come into force immediately after being signed by the president and published on the country’s legislative registry website.
