Is Armenia Concerned About Potential Azerbaijani Aggression? Kocharian Responds
In the National Assembly, press briefings of parliamentary factions are taking place. A journalist asked if Armenia is concerned that Azerbaijan might initiate aggression and what fears the public should have. Andranik Kocharian, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, responded: 'Of course, we are also concerned about the significant scale of armament acquisitions being undertaken by Azerbaijan, notably from various countries. If the former authorities of Armenia had been concerned in a timely manner, during the 44-day war, our reserves would have been full, our mobilization resources would have been better prepared, and we would have been ready for many challenges, instead of finding ourselves behind the banks of botulin,' said Kocharian, and added, 'Yes, we are concerned. That is why we are implementing programs to prevent any such ambitions. But there’s no need to speak extensively about concern; we need to act and work.'
