Residents of Kasakh Village to Block Ashtarak-Yerevan Highway Today

According to the newspaper "Joghout", residents of Kasakh Village will block the Ashtarak-Yerevan highway today. They are sounding the alarm, stating that they will no longer remain silent, and that the actions of the head of the Nairi community, Norair Sargsyan, against the rights of citizens have already crossed the line.

The issue is that during yesterday's council meeting, the head of the Nairi community decided to revoke a resolution which excluded the right to construction permits on land parcels designated for village purposes granted to residents. This means that if residents wish to build a house on their own land, the community leader will need to consider each case individually, and a council decision will determine whether construction is permitted or not. In other words, people will fall into unnecessary disputes, which is why they are blocking the road and demanding a boycott of the council meeting to prevent the community leader from violating their rights.
