India Calls for Swift Ceasefire in Gaza

India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has called for a swift ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “India's position on this issue has been principled and consistent. We condemn acts of terrorism and the taking of hostages. We are deeply saddened by the continued loss of innocent civilian lives. Any response must take into account the principles of humanitarian law. We support the establishment of a ceasefire as soon as possible,” Jaishankar stated during his speech at the first meeting of the India-Gulf Cooperation Council held in Riyadh, according to Armenpress, citing TASS.
