At That Time, Passengers Were Traveling on the Bus Both Bent and Embracing Each Other: Deputy Mayor

According to calculations assessed by an international organization in 2016, we need an additional 250 buses to address the issues related to public transportation. This was stated today by Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan during a briefing with journalists, responding to questions about the delays in reforms in the public transportation sector despite ongoing complaints from citizens.

“Yes, we do have issues related to public transportation. That is why we are acquiring vehicles. Specifically, this year we plan to have 171 new buses by the end of October. Discussions have been held regarding fare adjustments, and it has been recorded that significant improvements have been made in the public transportation sector. People are not traveling bent over; they have the opportunity to use air conditioning in hot weather and travel with heated buses in cold weather,” Grigoryan said.

In response to a journalist's comment that Yerevan residents continue to travel on buses embracing each other, Grigoryan replied, “At that time, passengers were traveling both bent and embracing each other.”
