«Zon Nayogh Ujanik» Released from NSS Basement, Reports «Hraparak»
According to «Hraparak» reports, Artyom Movsesyan, known as the criminal authority «Zon Nayogh Ujanik», had been held for several months in the basement of the National Security Service (NSS) after being transferred from Armavir Penitentiary.
His lawyer, Alexander Kochubayev, informed the media that a few days ago, the first-instance court of Armavir Marz changed the detention measure for the «Zon Nayogh» to house arrest. According to the lawyer, his client had spent 10 months in the NSS isolation unit, having been moved there from prison for participating in a criminal subculture.
“A case was initiated, but it was never sent to court. The case was related to involvement in a criminal culture. It seems to be automatic; as soon as a case is initiated, they immediately transfer you,” he said.
Commenting on the reasons for the change of the detention measure, Kochubayev stated, “The trial had concluded, and there was a risk of pressure on witnesses. We exhausted the trial, and that risk was eliminated, thus the detention measure was changed to house arrest.”
Movsesyan does not admit to the charges against him, stating, “Our battle is for justification; naturally, a measure restricting freedom cannot be satisfactory, but compared to imprisonment and also being held in the NSS isolation unit, it is a more acceptable solution.”
It is noteworthy that Artyom Movsesyan has been charged with murder.
