Armenia Does Not Join Council of Europe Declaration, Says Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

Armenia has not joined the Council of Europe declaration related to Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan told Radio Liberty.

Ministers from Council of Europe member countries adopted a declaration on September 5 in Vilnius during a conference titled "Accountability for International Crimes Committed in Ukraine." The declaration supports the International Criminal Court's order for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin and calls for the establishment of a special tribunal for the crimes of aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian media reported that the Armenian side's signature was included in the draft document but was later removed.

Armenia adopted a bill on ratifying the Rome Statute in October.
