Arayik Harutyunyan Says, 'You May One Day Wake Up and See That I'm Gone' – NA President Opens Up
The President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, expressed confusion regarding claims that 'Artsakh does not exist.' 'Armenia's response to that is already known; legally, there is no unity of Nagorno-Karabakh. There are our compatriots displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, and the government of Armenia is addressing all their issues remarkably well,' he stated in a conversation with journalists.
Simonian announced that he had several phone conversations with the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, during which Harutyunyan mentioned that he was forced to resign under pressure. 'He even said, you may one day wake up and see that I'm gone; there is enormous pressure on me,' noted the President of the National Assembly.
He added that there was a reference in the document regarding the dissolution of Artsakh that had no factual connection to Armenia. 'We have demanded that this reference be removed from the text,' Simonian said, without providing further details.
