All Bodies of Helicopter Crash Victims Found in Russia: They Were Tourists

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has announced the completion of search operations at the crash site of the Mi-8 helicopter in Kamchatka. Rescuers have discovered all 22 deceased, including 19 tourists and three crew members. The bodies have been transported to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky for identification.

It is recalled that the "Vityaz-Aero" airline's Mi-8 helicopter went missing in Kamchatka on the morning of August 31. The helicopter wreckage was found the following day in the vicinity of the Vachkazhets mountain range.

The governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, declared September 3 a day of mourning in memory of the victims. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on charges of violating traffic safety and air transport operation regulations (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to reports, those on board included residents from Buryatia, Kamchatka, Moscow, Perm Krai, Lipetsk, Amur Region, and Udmurtia. Among them was Arseny Zamyatin, the financial director of the Russian Football Union (RFU), who was traveling with his wife. They were on vacation in Kamchatka.
