Kremlin Comments on Putin's Upcoming Visit to Mongolia, Which Signed the Rome Statute
The Kremlin is not concerned about Russian President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to Mongolia in relation to Ulaanbaatar's signing of the Rome Statute and its membership in the International Criminal Court (ICC). This was stated to reporters by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.
In response to a question from journalists about whether the Kremlin has concerns regarding Mongolia's recognition of the ICC's jurisdiction, Peskov replied, "No, there are no concerns. We have excellent dialogue with our friends in Mongolia."
It should be noted that Putin is set to visit the country on September 3 and will participate in celebrations marking the 85th anniversary of the victory of Soviet and Mongolian forces at Khalkhin Gol.
