No Supporters for Shooting Down Russian Missiles Over Ukraine in NATO, Says Polish Deputy Prime Minister

NATO countries are skeptical about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's idea of shooting down Russian missiles over his country. This was stated by Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Wojciech Kosiniak-Kamysz.

“There are no supporters for the idea of shooting down missiles over Ukraine in NATO. There is a great deal of skepticism on this issue. No state will make such decisions individually. I have not seen any supporters for this decision within NATO,” said the Polish deputy prime minister.

However, he expressed understanding for the Ukrainian leader’s desire, stating that “it is his role.” Kosiniak-Kamysz reminded that the role of the Polish authorities is to make decisions in line with the interests of the Polish state.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, Zelensky commented on the Polish authorities' decision not to shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine, noting that such a decision stems from the lack of support from other NATO countries for this idea.
