Clashes Erupt Between IDF and Palestinian Groups
Clashes occurred overnight on the western bank of the Jordan River between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and various Palestinian groups. The IDF has launched a large-scale operation in the northern part of the West Bank, which Israeli media describe as the "largest military operation in the occupied West Bank since 2002," involving thousands of soldiers and expected to last several days.
Yedioth Ahronoth reports that the IDF plans to evacuate several residential neighborhoods to "manage" the resistance. Hundreds of Israeli soldiers are involved in the operations taking place along the western bank of the Jordan River. The Israeli military is conducting extensive operations to arrest wanted individuals and eliminate terrorist infrastructure. It has been noted that Israeli Defense Forces units have attacked three refugee camps.
Earlier reports indicated that Israeli air forces struck a terrorist operational center in the Nur Shams area, killing five militants. In turn, Qatari Al Jazeera has reported that the operation in the western bank of the Jordan River has resulted in seven fatalities due to Israeli military strikes.
