Nuclear Incident Threat in Kursk Region

Recent events near the Kursk nuclear power plant, following an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces in the region, have raised concerns regarding the nuclear and physical safety of the facility, said Rafael Grossi. This is why he deemed it essential to visit the site in person and assess the situation.

“I eagerly await further discussions on all issues arising from the visit, so that we can jointly find a way to prevent potential violations of nuclear and physical safety regimes at the power plant,” stated the head of the IAEA.
