In Volgograd Colony Incident, Injured Are in Serious Condition
Employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service who were injured in a hostage situation at a correctional colony in the Volgograd region are in serious condition. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a representative of the service.
On August 23, it became known that inmates at Colony No. 19 in the Volgograd region had taken staff members hostage. After some time, it was announced that special forces snipers had neutralized four inmates and released the hostages. As a result of the incident, four employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service were killed, and another four were injured.
The representative of the agency reported, “The condition of the injured is serious.” The injured are receiving treatment in medical facilities in Volgograd.
