What is the Situation at the Nubarashen Landfill? Insights from the Ministry of Emergency Situations

From August 12 to 16, as of 09:00, firefighting operations involved 25 combat units from the firefighting and rescue teams of the Yerevan City Rescue Department, along with 5 duty crews from the Fire Suppression and Rescue Operations Organization Division. As of 09:00 on August 16, the fire had been isolated and extinguished over an area of 1.5 hectares at the landfill, while there remained smoldering spots in another 1.5 hectares where firefighting and soil-covering operations continue.

On August 12, at 19:18, the "New Landfills" LLC reported that a fire had broken out at the Nubarashen landfill. Arriving firefighters discovered that approximately 3 hectares of landfill area was burning.

Firefighting operations were carried out in the economic waste area (3 hectares), during which 376 tons of water were used by the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
