VIDEO: You go to America earning $1000, come back wanting to spend on us as if it's a million - Pashinyan to Aygevanc resident
During Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Aygevanc yesterday, one of the residents expressed frustration that the government has done nothing for the village.
"You go there earning $1000, and then you want to spend on us as if it’s a million. No one in Ukraine, Russia, or America could do more for Armenia than the citizens living and paying taxes here. There is no need to ask for anything; we are doing everything without asking, all projects are underway," said Pashinyan, acknowledging that the village resident works in Ukraine.
In response to the resident’s claim that he has the opportunity to live in the U.S. but is currently residing in Armenia, Pashinyan replied, "If you want, go there and live; don’t act like you’re doing me a favor by being here."
The Aygevanc resident mentioned that there are 10-15 entrepreneurs in the village who are ready to support the construction of a sports school. Pashinyan responded, "For every contribution made by entrepreneurs, I'll match it. I’ll give you my phone number, but later I will publish how much the entrepreneurs from outside Aygevanc have raised for the village."
One of the staff members from Pashinyan's office also told the villagers that nothing had been done in Aygevanc over the past thirty years, while the village has been improved in the last three years.
