The Ukrainian Armed Forces have attacked one of Russia's largest passenger ports, targeting a ferry at the 'Kavkaz' port in the Black Sea.

According to reports, the Ukrainian military struck a railway ferry carrying fuel tanks using a 'Neptune' missile at the Kavkaz port. This was confirmed by the operational headquarters in Kuban, as reported by RIA Novosti.

At the time of the attack, there were 30 fuel tanks filled with fuel in the Kavkaz port, where five people were present, according to the head of the Temryuk district in Krasnodar Krai. The fate of these five individuals is currently being clarified. A fire has broken out, classified as a third-degree complexity incident. As a result of the damage, the ferry was sunk. There are no fire outbreaks in the port area itself.

The operational headquarters reported, "The Kyiv regime has attempted another act of terrorism in the Krasnodar region; the railway ferry loaded with fuel tanks at the Kavkaz port was attacked. Emergency and special services are currently working on site. Information on the fire area and the casualties is being confirmed." According to reports from the Shot Telegram channel, the missile struck the anchored vessel.

Previously, it was noted that a "flock of American reconnaissance aircraft" had been spotted over the Black Sea and near Crimea.
