Mariam Z.
More than 10 banks in Kyrgyzstan have suspended transfers to Russia, according to local media reports.
At least 13 of Kyrgyzstan's 23 banks have indefinitely halted transfers via mobile applications of Sberbank, MTS Bank, and T-Bank. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan explained that commercial financial institutions are now taking measures to prevent the negative impact of international sanctions on the country's banking system.
It was previously reported that transfers through a number of Russian banks had been suspended by Kyrgyzstan's largest bank, “Mbank.” This represented up to 60% of transfers between the countries.
