Items resembling drugs found in the car of a general-lieutenant's son following accident

On August 22, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 4:55 PM, 38-year-old Giorgi Apriamov, a resident of Yerevan, collided with a parked Opel vehicle while driving his Hyundai Sonata on Shoproni Street near house number 77.

According to photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the driver reported that he had felt unwell, which led to the collision with the Opel. He was transported to Erebuni Medical Center, but he refused medical assistance and was subsequently taken back to the scene by the police.

Upon inspection of the vehicle he was driving, police discovered droppers, substances resembling drugs, and other suspicious items. Subsequently, the police transferred him to the Nor Nork Division of the Police, where information was forwarded to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia's Yerevan city office, specifically to the Avan and Nor Nork investigative department, where criminal proceedings have been initiated.

The vehicle has been moved to a secured area designated by the investigator. According to G. Shamshyan's information, G. Apriamov’s father holds the rank of general-lieutenant and has occupied senior positions in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, including serving as the first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
