Dispute and Stabbing in Ashtarak: Defense Ministry Serviceman Hospitalized

On August 16, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Aragatsotn province. Shamshyan.com reports, citing its sources: At around 2:40 AM, the "Yerevan City" medical center contacted the Ashtarak division of the Republic of Armenia’s Police, reporting that a citizen had sought medical assistance due to a stabbing incident that occurred around 2:00 AM, resulting in a "cut-puncture wound to the left forearm with bleeding."

According to Shamshyan, an operational group from the Ashtarak division of the police, led by the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, arrived at the hospital where it was established that the injured individual was a 20-year-old resident of Lori Province named Vazgen S.

It was also clarified that on the same day at approximately 1:30 AM, an unknown person had entered into an unfounded argument with Vazgen S. near the "Yerevan City" supermarket located on Tigran Mets Street in Ashtarak, during which they used a cutting-piercing tool to stab him once, causing the aforementioned bodily injury.

Following the incident, documents were prepared at the Ashtarak division of the police, which have been sent to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Aragatsotn regional investigative department, where criminal proceedings have been initiated.

According to a decision by the investigator, Kirakos M. has been arrested and taken to the temporary detention facility of the Ashtarak police division.

Sources indicate that Vazgen S. is a serviceman of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
