Biden Informs Netanyahu About Urgency in Reaching Agreement with Hamas

U.S. President Joe Biden emphasized the urgency of achieving a ceasefire with the Palestinian Hamas militant group during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to a statement released by the White House, Biden highlighted the need for a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

"The President stressed the urgency of the ceasefire and the captive release deal and discussed negotiations in Cairo aimed at removing all remaining obstacles," the statement noted.

The parties also addressed "the U.S.'s active and ongoing efforts to support Israel's defense against all threats from Iran," which includes U.S. military deployments, the White House added.
