At 17, a Silver Medalist: Armenian Wrestler Defeats Russian Athlete
In the world wrestling championship for athletes under 17 years old, taking place in Amman, Jordan, Marat Ajemyan has become a silver medalist. Ajemyan began his journey in the 1/8 finals, winning decisively with a score of 9-0 against Iranian Ahmad Badradi. In the quarterfinals, he eliminated Azerbaijani Shakhid Nabiyev ahead of schedule, again with the same score.
In the semifinals, the Armenian wrestler faced Uzbekistan's Umidzhon Karomov and dominated the match, securing victory in just 36 seconds with a score of 8-0. However, in the final match, Ajemyan lost to Russian Aslanbek Kostoeyev with a score of 3-6.
