New York is Under Russian Control: Ministry of Defense

The Russian armed forces have defeated a powerful grouping of the Ukrainian armed forces and liberated the village of Novgorodskoye (Ukrainian name: New York) in the Donetsk People's Republic, reports the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Novgorodskoye was liberated by the troops of the 'Center' group. The Ministry of Defense's summary emphasizes that Novgorodskoye is one of the largest settlements in the Toretsk agglomeration and serves as a strategically important logistical hub for the Ukrainian armed forces.

Ukrainian losses in this direction have exceeded 585 servicemen. Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, co-chair of the coordinating council for the integration of new regions, announced that the Russian flag has been raised over Novgorodskoye, and a 'cleaning' operation from adversary forces is underway there.
