Israel Approaches Destruction of Hamas in Gaza, Netanyahu Claims

Israel is gradually moving towards the elimination of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlining the main successes of the military forces.

“We are striving with all our might to overthrow the Hamas regime and eliminate its military capabilities, and we are making progress in this regard... We are getting closer to that goal step by step,” Netanyahu said during a meeting with relatives of Israelis killed during the battles in Gaza and those abducted by Palestinian militants.

As evidence of his statements, the Prime Minister noted the elimination of Hamas' military wing leader Muhammad Deif, the capture of the Philadelphia Corridor that divides Gaza from Egypt, and the establishment of control over the Rafah crossing located there.
