Hovik Abrahamyan's Testimony in the Case of Illegal Privatization of Tsaghkadzor Forests

'Hetq' has obtained testimonies from former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and several other former officials regarding the illegal privatization of Tsaghkadzor forests.

'Years ago, we published an investigation about the illegal privatization of Tsaghkadzor forests by officials between 2007 and 2009. We uncovered that former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, former Kotayk Governor Kovalensko Shahgaldyan, and several other officials unlawfully took control of more than 50 hectares of forested land. Based on the publication, a criminal case was opened by the Special Investigative Service, which was later closed. During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, the officials who privatized the forests were interrogated.'

Hovik Abrahamyan responded, 'That publication does not reflect reality; I have had no connection to the aforementioned land areas, and I currently have no relation to them either. I have had no involvement in the process of the alienation of those lands and have not known who, when, and how much land was acquired in that area; it has not interested me.'
