Israeli Army Strikes Hezbollah Weapons Depots in Lebanon

The Israeli military has launched an attack on a Hezbollah squad and weapons depot located in the Shabaa region of southern Lebanon. This information was reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service.

According to the publication, Israeli air forces have also targeted another Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Aita al-Shaab. It has been noted that a military structure in the Matmour region of southern Lebanon was also subjected to the attack. Furthermore, the IDF reported that a mortar belonging to a Hezbollah unit was destroyed in the At-Tiri area.

Relations between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement have deteriorated in recent weeks. At the end of July, the Golan Heights were shelled, resulting in 12 deaths and approximately 40 injuries. Israel has blamed Hezbollah for the attack, although the movement has denied the allegations. Following the assassination of one of Hezbollah's military commanders, Fuad Shoukri, the group threatened to retaliate against Israel.

Just the day before, the Israeli army attacked a residential building in the city of Nabatiya, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Six people were reported killed and three others injured as a result of the strike. On the same day, sources cited by The New York Times in the U.S., Iran, and Israel reported that Iran and Hezbollah had reduced the operational readiness of their missile units.
