Large Fire Breaks Out in Aragatsotn Province
Today, August 17, a large fire occurred in Aragatsotn Province. At around 1:30 PM, the 911 crisis management national center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a report that animal feed was burning in the community of Aragatsavan in Talin municipality. As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, a firefighting crew from Talin's number 22 fire-rescue squad quickly arrived with one operational unit.
Before the firefighters arrived, local villagers attempted to combat the spread of the fire, followed by the firefighters’ efforts. Officers from the second platoon of the patrol service of the Aragatsotn province also arrived promptly, under the command of Deputy Commander Agasi Khachatryan and platoon commander Harutyun Poghosyan.
Fortunately, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties resulting from the fire. An operational group from the Talin police department also arrived at the scene, led by department head Armen Harutyunyan. Police documents are being processed regarding the incident, where the owner’s identity will be established and the extent of damages assessed.
