Democrats' Chances of Victory Increase in Southern States of the U.S.
In the southern states of the U.S.—Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina—the chances of Democrats winning have increased alongside presidential candidate Kamala Harris's emergence, as reported by research results from the New York Times.
Harris is ahead of her Republican rival Donald Trump by five percentage points in Arizona, with 50% of voters stating they would vote for her if the elections were held today. In North Carolina, where Trump won in 2020, Harris has garnered 49%, surpassing Trump’s votes.
Democrats are also narrowing the gap in Nevada and Georgia, where many are still inclined to vote for Trump. In Nevada, Harris has secured 48% compared to her opponent's 47%, while in Georgia, Trump has received 50% support, whereas the Vice President is four percentage points behind.
