Over 30 Hours Blaze at Germany's Largest Steel Producer Warehouse
In Germany, near the city of Völklingen in the federal state of Saarland, the warehouse of ThyssenKrupp, the largest steel producer, has been burning for over 30 hours. This is reported by Bild.
“A total of about 200 firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and police officers are present at the scene,” the report states.
The smoke cloud has reached the city of Saarbrücken, located 15 kilometers away. Due to the fire, part of the warehouse roof has collapsed. Local residents have been asked to close their windows and doors because of the heavy smoke.
