Number of Arrests During Enhanced Police Operations in Yerevan Revealed

The National Police of Armenia carried out enhanced police operations in the capital city on the evening of August 14. The operation involved the participation of the Criminal Police Chief, Yerevan city departments and their subdivisions, the Chief Department of Public Safety, as well as officers and patrols from the Police Forces.

According to the police report, during the enhanced operations, 580 vehicles were checked, and 3 vehicles were moved to a designated secure area. A total of 46 individuals were arrested and taken to police stations on various suspicions, and 3 more individuals were presented at the stations.

During the operation, authorities discovered a Makarov-type pistol loaded with cartridges, 4 gas pistols, and 8 cold weapons. Additionally, there were 15 recorded instances of narcotics detection.

Such enhanced operations are conducted periodically.
