How Much Compensation Will Be Provided to Those Who Lost Livestock Due to the Disaster
The Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, presented at today’s government meeting the support that will be provided to those who lost livestock, agricultural lands, fruit trees, and plants due to the floods that occurred in the Lori and Tavush regions.
“According to the project, support will be provided at 100% of the assessed value for recorded large cattle in the communities' economic records, as well as based on the data from the 'Ani Pas' electronic information system. For example, for one head: bull - 650,000 AMD, cow - 550,000 AMD, calf - 110,000 AMD, pig - 100,000 AMD, piglet - 400,000 AMD, sheep and goat - 50,000 AMD, lamb - 40,000 AMD, horse - 350,000 AMD, donkey - 80,000 AMD, rabbit - 3,000 AMD, chicken - 2.5 thousand AMD, duck - 4,000 AMD, goose - 5,000 AMD, turkey - 7,000 AMD, bee colony - 60,000 AMD, and one brooding hen of the feathered breed - 2.4 thousand AMD,” the minister stated.
He noted that for unregistered animals in the communities' economic records, compensation will be provided at 50% of the assessed value, except for large cattle and brooding hens of the feathered breed, for which no compensation will be provided if they are not registered.
Papoyan announced that a one-time payment of 150,000 AMD will be granted for residential land parcels if ownership rights to the real estate are established.
“If fruit trees or berry bushes are cultivated on agricultural land and crops are carried out, compensation will be 100% of the assessed value if ownership rights to the real estate are established. For example, for each destroyed fruit tree due to the disaster, it will be 8,500 AMD; for damaged fruit trees, 1,500 AMD; for fruit seedlings, 300 AMD; and 450 AMD per square meter for berry bushes. For cereals and legumes, compensation will be 350,000 AMD per hectare,” Papoyan added.
Summarizing the incurred damages, the minister provided the figures: “According to the preliminary damage assessment results, the number of lost and fallen large and small cattle is initially estimated at 400 heads, birds, rabbits, etc. - 2,413, destroyed or lost fruit trees - 10,248, and destroyed agricultural lands - 25.1 hectares.”
