Earthquake Recorded in Syria
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 has been recorded in the Hama province of Syria. This information has been reported by the TASS agency, referencing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
According to the seismological centre, the earthquake occurred on Monday, August 12, at 11:55 PM. The epicenter of the underground tremors was located 4 km west of the city of Salamiyah, which has a population of 94,800, with the focus at a depth of 7 km.
As reported by the Lebanon 24 portal, the earthquake was also felt in Lebanon and Jordan. No information regarding casualties or damage has been reported from any country. However, in Aleppo and Tripoli, the underground tremors were quite strong, causing people to flee their homes in panic.
