Russian President Vladimir Putin has held an operational consultation regarding the situation in the Kursk region. Participants included members of the Security Council, government officials, representatives from the presidential administration, leaders of power structures, as well as leaders from the Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk regions.

“The main task, of course, is set before the Ministry of Defense – to drive the adversary out of our territories and to ensure a reliable coverage of the state border in conjunction with the border service,” the state leader's words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

Putin also emphasized the importance of combating Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups. According to him, the Federal Security Service, together with Russia's National Guard, must ensure a counter-terrorism situation and effectively combat the adversary's reconnaissance-sabotage groups. The Russian Guard also has its combat tasks. Meanwhile, civil departments are obliged to ensure that law enforcement agencies are supplied with everything necessary.

It is worth noting that the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, stated that more than 370 temporary shelters have been prepared for residents of border areas in the Kursk region across 54 regions of the country.
